KEYS TO UNLOCK YOUR FINANCES!

KEY #2 - CLARITY! YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. NEED A FINANCIAL BREAKTHROUGH. Today's Article will change your financial destiny. Brought to you by Secrets of Heaven & dreamitCoaching, www.secretsofheaven.com.

WHAT DO YOU WANT?  Are you crystal clear on what you want to achieve with your life? What dreams do you have for your family, children, ministry, business, marriage, body, etc?  We've all heard the famous quote, "If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail."  Well, it's actually true.

Your life is like a river with currents moving all around you.  Your destiny is like a row boat sitting in the middle of the river. If you just sit in the boat and don't row in any direction, you will be tossed to and fro by the currents of life.  You have to row your boat or your life in the direction you want it to go, but how can you until you've determined what it is you want.

Let's use finances as an example.  What do you want financially?  What are you financial goals?  Our brain processes data in pictures.  They say that we recall things the most when the information is pictured to us in the form of a story, because it works closet along the lines of the way we naturally process and retrieve information, in pictures.  So be specific and be present tense.  Don't worry about the how yet, just write down the what, when, and why.  If you can't measure it you can't mange it.

1. What is your financial set point (the highest amount you've made in a week, month, year)?

2. What is your money blueprint (what did you learn growing up about money/currency? what did you always hear? what are your financial habits and what were the financial habits of your parents? Does making money come easily to you or hard? Are you a spender or a saver? Do you feel better when you have a lot vs. little?)

3. Do you have any emotional attachments to money or is it just a tool?  You need to understand how you respond to and behave regarding currency and uncover any limited beliefs you've adopted the acquisition, use, or management of financial resources.

4. Why are you financially where you are? What habits do you have that seem to result in lack or contribute to your current financial situation? Be absolutely honest with yourself. No blamming people or circumstances and no excuses.

5. Who was your greatest financial role model as a child?  What things did you always hear growing up about money?

6. What things were you taught about money growing up?

7. What is the most you've ever made in a single year? Was money easily available or hard to come by?

8. Was money managed well in your family or managed poorly in your family?

9. Were your parents spenders or savers?

10. If you're married, what is the money habits of your spouse? What is their set point (greatest amount per year they have ever made?)  I would highly recommend that both you and your spouse go through these exercises together if possible, because if you're a spender and he or she's a saver, it will be difficult to partner together to achieve your financial goals. How can two walk together unless they be agreed?

11. If you are married, together what financial goals do you have for your family? Your children? Their education?  Your education?  Your business?  Your ministry?  Your home?  Where do you want to be in 3 years, 5 years, 10 years?

Why?

An encouraging reminder from the Lord:  Knowledge is power.  If you have not really considered specific financial goals, then you have no tool by which to measure where you are going, nor will you ever know your destination or how to recognize it when you get there.
